Are non-surgical treatments actually worth it?

In the right candidate, absolutely. Botox reliably softens expression lines; fillers and Sculptra restore genuinely lost volume; Sciton laser treatments correct sun damage that skincare cannot touch; Morpheus8 measurably tightens skin. What separates worthwhile from wasteful is candidacy and dosing. Our surgeon-led approach means you get an honest map of what these tools can do for your specific face and skin, and clear redirection if your goal genuinely requires surgery.

Why does it matter that treatments are surgeon-led?

Because everything injectable or energy-based interacts with anatomy: vessels, nerves, fat compartments, and skin of varying thickness. A plastic surgeon plans treatments with a three-dimensional understanding of what sits beneath every entry point, which produces both safer sessions and more natural results. It also means your provider can tell you honestly when a device or syringe is the wrong tool, advice a device-only clinic is rarely positioned to give.

What is special about the Sciton Joule?

The Joule is a hospital-grade laser platform, and ours was the first in Connecticut. It powers our Photofacial for tone and sun damage, and the MicroLaser Peel for resurfacing texture, with depth control precise enough to tailor treatment to your skin and your schedule. Platform quality matters in lasers the way instrument quality matters in surgery: it widens what is achievable and narrows the margin of error.

How long do injectable results last?

Botox and Dysport typically hold three to four months. Hyaluronic acid fillers last six months to two years depending on the product and placement. Sculptra builds collagen gradually and can last two years or more. Longevity varies by individual metabolism, treatment area, and dosing, which is why we build maintenance plans around your actual response rather than a standard calendar.

Is there downtime with laser and radiofrequency treatments?

It scales with intensity, and we plan it with you. Photofacial involves little more than temporary redness. MicroLaser Peel downtime depends on depth: a weekend refresh or a deeper correction with several days of visible peeling. Morpheus8 typically shows redness for a day or two. Body FX and Contoura Plus have essentially none. Every plan comes with an honest downtime forecast matched to your calendar.

Can non-surgical treatments replace a facelift?

Sometimes, for a while, and it depends on your starting point. Early laxity and volume loss respond well to combinations like Morpheus8 with fillers or Sculptra, and can credibly delay surgery for years. Established jowling and loose neck skin eventually outpace what energy and volume can disguise. Because Dr. Kim offers both paths, you will get the honest answer for your face, including when saving toward surgery serves you better than serial treatments.
